Why I Became a Financial Advisor


I’ve always had a passion for business and had the entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. After completing a business degree from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, I looked for an exciting business ownership opportunity. I found the Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzel franchise system appealing and I spent many years operating two successful stores as their youngest franchise owner.

Discovering My Calling

I began to look for my next entrepreneurial adventure. Soon I discovered that small businesses were paying extremely high fees and expenses for management of their 401(k) retirement plans. Because many of these fees were hidden in the fine print, I felt that most participants were unaware of this practice. I found that many businesses that offered 401(k) retirement plans to their valued employees were in the same predicament.

Ready for a new challenge in my career, I decided I would help these small business owners manage their financial challenges. I pursued several advanced credentials, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, Chartered Financial Consultant®, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. In 2010, I took a leap of faith and formed Key Wealth Partners, LLC. The rest, as they say, is history.

My Role Today

Today, Key Wealth Partners, LLC has been assisting individuals, families, and professionals with their personal and business goals for more than six years. I am proud to run an independent firm that is free from sales quotas or proprietary products that are too common in this industry.

While the word “fiduciary” has been thrown around a lot these days, I have been serving my clients as a fiduciary since day one. I work by the idea that the only way I do the right thing for my clients is by accepting personal responsibility for my actions. I am committed to being transparent in all of my actions, forthcoming in fee discussions, and open about any potential conflicts of interest. I never want my clients to be wonder what they’re paying or investing in.

It’s for these reasons and more that I see myself as more than just an advisor. I also aim to serve as an objective guide, a shoulder to lean on, a financial teacher, a business consultant, and a professional people can rely on for honest advice.

While simultaneously running a business and being an advisor isn’t an easy task, I can’t imagine having any other career. I feel lucky that my job allows me to build long-lasting relationships with so many incredible people. I take pride in our long relationships and my ability to help with their financial needs.
